Warm Apple Pie Kids Oatmeal

Who doesn’t love the smell of a warm apple pie baking? We sure do! This week we’re swapping out a traditional apple pie for the oatmeal variety! That’s right, we’re making warm apple pie oatmeal. Yum! This breakfast does require a little more time than our usual recipes, we recommend saving this one for the weekend. It’s sure to warm little bellies and leave your house smelling like a crisp fall day.
Ingredients:
- 2 scoops of Healthy Height Plain mix
- 2 apples of your choice, diced
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp brown sugar
- ¾ cup quick cook oats
- 2 ¼ cups water
- Vanilla yogurt (optional)
Directions:
- Heat oven to 400
- Dice apples and toss with the cinnamon and brown sugar
- Roast in the oven for 25 minutes or until soft when pricked with a fork
- While the apples are roasting, bring the water to a boil
- Add oats and cook as directed
- Remove from the heat and stir in the Healthy Height
- Spoon into bowls and top with the roasted apples
- Dollop with vanilla yogurt and a sprinkle of cinnamon (optional)
